Acceptable Use Policy

Every Mailodee customer shares the same sending reputation, so one bad sender affects everyone. This policy explains what is allowed and how we keep it that way.

What it is for

Mailodee is for email your apps send to their own users and the replies those users send back: sign-ups, password resets, receipts, notifications, alerts and support conversations. Bulk marketing is not the focus of the service.

What you cannot send

  • Unsolicited email, or email to purchased, rented, shared or scraped lists.
  • Phishing, malware, or messages that impersonate another person, company or brand.
  • Misleading From addresses, subject lines or headers.
  • Illegal content, or content promoting illegal goods or services.
  • Mail to addresses that have bounced or complained. These are suppressed automatically.

Sending standards

  • Every sending domain must be verified with DKIM, a custom MAIL FROM domain for SPF, and a DMARC record. We set this up with you during onboarding.
  • Any email that is not strictly transactional must include a working, one-click unsubscribe, and unsubscribes must be honored right away.
  • Keep your bounce rate below 4% and your complaint rate below 0.1%.
  • Remove addresses that have not engaged in a long time instead of sending to them again and again.

How we enforce it

  • Hard bounces and spam complaints are added to a suppression list as soon as they happen, so the address is never emailed again from any account.
  • New accounts start with low daily limits that rise as they build a clean sending history.
  • We watch bounce and complaint rates for each account and domain, and pause sending automatically when they pass safe levels.
  • We review accounts with sudden volume spikes or reports of abuse, and close accounts that break this policy.

If you received unwanted email sent through Mailodee, forward it with full headers to abuse@mailodee.com. We investigate every report, usually within one business day.
